Maniverters – These are mounted as close to the engine as possible, to help reduce ‘light-off’ times and get the cat up to the correct temperature as possible.  This helps reduce emissions as soon as possible.

Vauxhall Astra 1.4/1.6 Ecotec - Certain Astra models utilise a maniverter, and because of its large size, it can be an absolute pig to fit.  A to tip is to loosen the 3 bolts that hold the aircon compressor in place, which when moved slightly, will allow the maniverter to drop into place.  Job done!

Accessories – Exhausts and cats must always be ‘hung’ correctly and not bolted rigid.  A small amount of movement is desirable to allow ‘flex’ but not too much so the system catches the floor plan.
